FROM 1938 TO TODAY: A CONSTANTLY EVOLVING COMPANY.

In 1938 Altero and his wife, Maria Franceschini, considering theirs and their children's future, decided to start a wine related business. It was the Fascist era far away from today's media and transportation, nevertheless family tales still resonates with memories of long journeys to Rome and other markets where Luigi (Paolo and Marco's father), still a child, learned the craft which shortly after became his and today his sons', whom are today managing directors.

They inherited the business in 1978. Giving life to Enogest. They have a clear vision and far-reaching goals. Passion is really strong and the tenacity is the kind you would expect from someone born and raised inside the company and know exactly where to take it.

Over the years they are faced with many challenges but the will to go forward has always prevailed.
The many efforts and the constant will to get involved start to bring their early successes, so they decide to open a trade route outside the Italian borders which projects the company towards international trade, with the first major success in the German market consolidation in 1982. The choice of turning to external markets would continue to bring successes over the years.

If a family is responsible for writing a story , then this story itself has to go by that family name.

This is the reason why from 2007 this story is called Barbanera
